Back to the Den for some trout fishing...
Ethan, Nick, Dad and I headed to the camp this morning for some 'trout' fishing and we managed to catch a couple brookies. Nick hooked his first ever salmon but he suffered a reel malfunction and on the second jump the salmon 'spit' the hook - we'll get him after supper or in the morning, Nick!
On our last pass on our way back to camp, Dad hooked bottom - or at least what we thought was bottom but it was this pesky little 39" female!! What a beautiful fish!! She fought hard but we brought her in quite fast as we went to shore to do the deed -- we just couldn't get her to move when we were in the boat!
Here's a few pics:

The truck is packed and we're headed to the 'Chi in the AM!
Dad and I just finished packing the truck and I might tie a couple more flies before hitting the hay. Here's a few from the last week or so:
Nick & Ethan are quite excited for a weekend of boy stuff - fishin', boatin', and shootin' BB guns! It's going to be a great weekend!

"Labels" complete!
Or at least the first revision is...
If you notice at the bottom of each of my posts there's a heading that says 'Labels'. Some of them are 'Miramichi River', 'Atlantic Salmon Flies', etc. If you click on the 'Atlantic Salmon Flies' label, it will display all of my posts showing salmon files I've tied. There's a bit of redundancy in my labelling scheme but over time I'll fine tune it to make certain posts and content easy to find.
Oh yeah, one other little tidbit --- for the best 'Wulff Den' experience please make sure you have an up to date web browser like Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or the most recent version of Internet Explorer. Using older browsers will show some of the fonts and colours incorrectly.
That's it for now!

Darth Canary...
Getting a little bored tying the same old canary so I added a little black:
I doubt it will be any more or less effective than the standard but it was good for the monotony!

Heading to the 'Chi on Friday with the young lads...
Hopefully we can find a few trout for Ethan and Nick - Not sure if there'll still be a few kelts around but we'll see. I've been tying up a few flies for trolling, got to make sure I have enough ammo for the young fellas =)
Here's a coyote GE variant -- quick and easy to tie:
A bunny strip thing - I like orange a lot:
And the rest of the gang --- definitely going to tie a bunch more canary marabous, I hate tying them but they are so damned effective...
